Byland Animal Hospital is a full-service veterinary medical facility, located in Loudonville, OH. We offer services for both small and large animals in Ashland and adjacent counties.

  • Jeff Byers, DVM

    Dr. Jeff Byers is a graduate of The Ohio State University with a Bachelor degree in Animal Science, having served on the 1977 General Livestock Judging Team.  He received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1982.  He is also a graduate of the Dairy Health Management Certificate Program at Michigan State and Ohio State Universities.

    Dr. Byers' primary veterinary focus is dairy and beef cattle herd health management with special emphasis on reproduction, including embryo implant services and ultrasound.

    He and his wife Marti live on the family farm where they raise registered Polled Shorthorn cattle.  Marti is a retired 4th grade teacher after 35 years with the Hillsdale School district.  They have two grown children, Mike and Tara, and a granddaughter, Marie. They have two dogs, Casey and Debbie.

  • Rebecca Cawrse, DVM

    Dr. Becky Cawrse grew up north of New London on a commercial hog farm.  She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from Ohio State in 1995 and received her DVM from Ohio State in 1999.  She spent 1 year in western NY, then 6 1/2 years in Ft. Recovery, OH before coming to Byland.  She has been at Byland since 2007.  She enjoys working with livestock producers and pet owners to provide the best medical care for her patients.

    Dr. Cawrse and her husband, Mark, have 3 children: Anthony, Allison, and Austin, their Golden Retriever Brutus, and a cat named Mix.  She is a member of the Ashland County Board of Health, a Girl Scout troop leader and she and Mark are active members of St. Peter's Church in Loudonville.

  • Laura Conley, DVM

    Dr. Laura Conley grew up in Sylvania, OH, graduated from the University of Findlay in 2011 with a bachelor's degree in Pre-Veterinary Medicine and Biology, and graduated from The Ohio State University with her DVM in 2015.  She enjoys the variety of mixed animal practice, with special interests in dairy and equine herd health and companion animal medicine.  She and her husband, Jim, live in Loudonville with their cat, Greycie, and standard poodle, Greta.  In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family, working on home improvement projects, playing violin, reading and hiking.

  • Katelyn Evenson, DVM

    Dr. Katelyn Evenson grew up in Greenfield, IN. She graduated with her bachelor of science from Purdue University in 2012 and completed her DVM degree in 2016, also from Purdue University. She is dedicated to caring for both companion and farm animals, and particularly enjoys cattle herd management. She and her husband, Chris, have two dogs, Abby and Belle, and she enjoys spending time with family, reading, cooking, camping and hiking in her free time.

  • Erika Osborne, DVM

    Dr. Erika Osborne grew up in Cherry Valley, NY. She graduated from the State University of New York at Cortland in 2013, with a Bachelor of Science degree, and completed her DVM in 2018 at The Ohio State University. She enjoys caring for both companion and farm animals with a special interest in dairy and calf management. Erika has two cats, Doc and Magnum, and a few Holstein dairy cows on her family's dairy farm in upstate New York. In her free time, Erika likes spending time with her family, playing ice hockey, reading, hiking, and kayaking.

  • Tiffany Firebaugh, RVT

    Tiffany is a registered veterinary technician, a graduate of Brown Mackie College. She is the head technician at Byland Animal Hospital. She lives in Loudonville and her family farm is near Wooster. She is very active in Relay for Life and is a 4H advisor, and she enjoys spending time with her beagle, Gunner.

  • Amber Rice, RVT

    Amber is a registered veterinary technician who graduated from Kent State University of Tuscarawas Veterinary Technology Program in 2013.  She loves to ride horses, go mudding, and spend time outdoors.  She enjoys working with horses and other large animals.  She has two Weimaraners that she rescued, Maximus and Charlie, two cats - Pippy and Aria, and a bearded dragon - Ryuk.

    Morgan is a registered veterinary technician, a 2018 graduate of the Bradford Veterinary Technical Institute. She loves both large animal and small animal medicine. In her free time, Morgan enjoys spending time outdoors and with family and friends. Her pets include two rescues, a dog Abby and a cat Styx, as well as a goat, Clover.

    Morgan is a registered veterinary technician who is a 2018 graduated of the Bradford Veterinary Technical Institute. She enjoys working with all kinds of animals, large and small. In her spare time, Morgan loves to garden, read and hike with her dog Twiggy. Along with Twiggy, she also has a boxer named Tiberius and 8 chickens.

    Haley is a front office receptionist.  She lives in Perrysville with her husband, Marty, and 2 children - Payton and Landon.  She has a passion for caring for cats and kittens, all of her current felines are rescues. They also have 3 dogs. She enjoys spending time with her family.

  • Chelse Wiford

    Chelse is a veterinary assistant. She graduated with a bachelors degree in Agricultural Business from California State University Fresno. She currently lives in Danville with her husband, Ben, where they raise beef cattle. She has two horses, Trick and Delta, two Australian Cattle Dogs, Jep and Stormie, and two Golden Retrievers, Cruise and Piper. She competes year round in rodeos and barrel races, and enjoys shooting her bow and deer hunting.

    Rebecca is a Veterinary Assistant. She had worked as a Veterinary Assistant and Kennel Assistant at Byland in her high school years and has recently came back to the place she loves. At home, Rebecca lives with her husband Cody and their two, soon to be three, children. Their “un-biological children” consist of their dogs Barney, Yoshimura, and Cooper and their cats Fiona, Carl, and Ellie.

    Elizabeth is a kennel assistant. She is a Loudonville High School graduate and now attends Ohio State College of Agriculture Science, majoring in Animal Science. After that she plans on applying to the Ohio State College of Veterinarian Medicine. She has one dog named Bandit and a cat named Pepperoni.
