  • Jeff Byers, DVM

    Dr. Jeff Byers is a graduate of The Ohio State University with a Bachelor degree in Animal Science, having served on the 1977 General Livestock Judging Team.  He received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1982.  He is also a graduate of the Dairy Health Management Certificate Program at Michigan State and Ohio State Universities.

    Dr. Byers' primary veterinary focus is dairy and beef cattle herd health management with special emphasis on reproduction, including embryo implant services and ultrasound.

    He and his wife Marti live on the family farm where they raise registered Polled Shorthorn cattle.  Marti is a retired 4th grade teacher after 35 years with the Hillsdale School district.  They have two grown children, Mike and Tara, and a granddaughter, Marie. They have two dogs, Casey and Debbie.

  • Rebecca Cawrse, DVM

    Dr. Becky Cawrse grew up north of New London on a commercial hog farm.  She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from Ohio State in 1995 and received her DVM from Ohio State in 1999.  She spent 1 year in western NY, then 6 1/2 years in Ft. Recovery, OH before coming to Byland.  She has been at Byland since 2007.  She enjoys working with livestock producers and pet owners to provide the best medical care for her patients.

    Dr. Cawrse and her husband, Mark, have 3 children: Anthony, Allison, and Austin, their Golden Retriever Brutus, and a cat named Mix.  She is a member of the Ashland County Board of Health, a Girl Scout troop leader and she and Mark are active members of St. Peter's Church in Loudonville.

  • Laura Conley, DVM

    Dr. Laura Conley grew up in Sylvania, OH, graduated from the University of Findlay in 2011 with a bachelor's degree in Pre-Veterinary Medicine and Biology, and graduated from The Ohio State University with her DVM in 2015.  She enjoys the variety of mixed animal practice, with special interests in dairy and equine herd health and companion animal medicine.  She and her husband, Jim, live in Loudonville with their cat, Greycie, and standard poodle, Greta.  In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family, working on home improvement projects, playing violin, reading and hiking.

  • Jess Simons, DVM

    Dr. Jess Simons is from Diamond, OH. She graduated from The Ohio State University with a bachelor of science in Agriculture in 2010 and earned her DVM degree in 2016, also from Ohio State. She has a passion for food animal medicine and surgery, and also enjoys equine and companion animal care. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her boyfriend Dirk, her German Short-haired Pointer Gracie, her cat Sheldon, her horse Renegade and her chinchilla Pete. Hobbies include scuba diving, white water rafting, camping and gardening.

  • Katelyn Evenson, DVM

    Dr. Katelyn Evenson grew up in Greenfield, IN. She graduated with her bachelor of science from Purdue University in 2012 and completed her DVM degree in 2016, also from Purdue University. She is dedicated to caring for both companion and farm animals, and particularly enjoys cattle herd management. She and her husband, Chris, have two dogs, Abby and Belle, and she enjoys spending time with family, reading, cooking, camping and hiking in her free time.

  • Sarah Durbin, RVT

    Sarah is a 2007 graduate of The Bradford School for Veterinary Technicians.  She loves working with small and large animals, and working here fulfills that desire.  She has worked here since she graduated and still learns new things everyday.  Sarah lives with her husband, Grant and their daughters, Hannah and Zoanne.  She also enjoys rescuing and fostering orphaned kittens, and has 3 cats of her own - Score, Lodge, and Mow.  She also has a Lab mix named Dale.

  • Amber Rice, RVT

    Amber is a registered veterinary technician who graduated from Kent State University of Tuscarawas Veterinary Technology Program in 2013.  She loves to ride horses, go mudding, and spend time outdoors.  She enjoys working with horses and other large animals.  She has a Weimaraner that she rescued, Maximus, a cat - Pippy, two Chinchillas - Caboose and Phoenix, and bearded dragon - Leonidas

  • Allie Gross

    Allie currently lives on a farm in Ashland County.  She started at Byland as a receptionist in 2012, transitioned to a veterinary assistant and then graduated with her veterinary technician degree in 2016.  She loves spending time with her family and friends.  She enjoys the outdoors by going on walks, fourwheeling, and riding horses.  She and her family have four horses: Foxy, Sassy, Rayne, and Wyatt and 3 dogs: Skippy, Hoss, and Mollie.

    Tiffany is a registered veterinary technician, a graduate of Brown Mackie College.  She lives in Loudonville and her family's farm is near Wooster. She is very active in Relay for Life and is a 4H advisor.

  • Lauren Cuevas

    Lauren is a 2017 graduate of both The Ohio State University, receiving a Bachelors of Science in Agriculture, and Columbus State Community College, receiving an Associates of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology. She is very passionate about animal health and behavior and enjoys the fact that every day is a learning experience in the veterinary field. Lauren has a loving Chocolate Labrador named Mylie and a spunky cat named Thane, who she rescued. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family, going on outdoor adventures with her boyfriend, weight lifting, and deer hunting.

    Haley started in October of 2014.  She lives in Loudonville with her husband, Marty, and 2 children - Payton and Landon.  They have 3 dogs - Max, Miya, and Murphy, and 2 cats - Miloh and Anakin.  She enjoys spending time with her family anad coaching the Loudonville High School Drill Team and Varsity Cheerleading.

  • Chelse Wiford

    Chelse is a veterinary assistant. She graduated with a bachelors degree in Agricultural Business from California State University Fresno. She currently lives in Danville with her husband, Ben, where they raise beef cattle. She has two horses, Trick and Jake, and two Australian Cattle Dogs, Jep and Stormie. She competes year round in rodeos and barrel races, and enjoys shooting her bow and deer hunting.

    Elizabeth is a kennel assistant. She is a Loudonville High School Senior this year and is planning on going to Ohio State College of Agriculture Science to major in Animal Science. After that she plans on attending the College of Veterinarian Medicine. She has one dog named Bandit and a cat named Pepperoni.
